1. ASPASIA EUROPEAN'S WEBSITE
consists of knowledge-based
information pages, promo-pages, and an E-shop.
This website presents psychological and social scientific
knowledge and opinions about society, about the behaviour, attitudes, and actions of individuals and groups
in society based on academic research (mainly psychological research). It addresses a 'non-academic' audience (although
academics are welcome too!).
Psychology is often understood as something private, something that applies to individuals
in a private sphere. Yet, the attitudes and actions of individuals and groups of individuals have an impact both on individuals
themselves and on other people and on society.
The ambition of this website is to apply psychological
knowledge to various areas of society, also to areas where it is seldom applied. This, of course, means that sometimes psychological
knowledge is not enough but have to be combined with knowledge from other disciplines within Social Sciences and Humanities.
Yet another ambition is to present topics from different fields in order to attract visitors from 'mixed
fields'. In this way the visitors might find something interesting to read about a topic they usually wouldn't go
and look for.
The Editor
Currently, the only editor is Pirjo
Niemenmaa. Her Ph D in Psychology is from Stockholm University, Sweden. Before that she also studied at the University of
Tampere, Finland. And, further, she is a Full Member , CPsychol, of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
In
the future there will be opportunities for other University educated to contribute to this website.

The USA is still leading, and the
visitors came from 10 different US states. California has taken the lead
now, followed by Washington.
Russia is well-positioned as the second country, and there were more visitors
from Russia than from any individual US state. Japan took the sixth place this time. Some new countries were in the list,
as well.
